    The Third Estate goes by National Assembly
    The Third Estate quit calling themselves the Third Estate and now went by the National Assembly. This flared the spread of the French Revolution. The National Assembly than began things like trying to get France out of debt and make France a constitution.

    This was an oath that pledged France would have a constitution. It was signed by all but one member of the Third Estate. The Third Estate met at the Tennis Court at Versailles because King Louis XVI locked them out of the Estates meeting.

    Storming of the Bastille
    This is when the Parisian stormed Bastille, to get weapons from there. In the process they released seven prisoners, and this was signifigant because the Bastille is a key symbol of royal authority in Paris.

    The French people were in horror with what they had done at Bastille. They were worried that King Louis XVI would punish them for what they did, and rumours spread about punishment, and also some peasants began protesting by burning down nobles houses and destroying rent records

    The Declaration of  The Rights of Man and of the Citizen
    This is a document that laid out basic rights that the French wanted. It was adopted by the National Assembly and the document was inspired by Enlightenment philosophers and English Bill of Rights. It stated all men were equal and stay equal before the law, also it promised freedom of speech, press, and religion.

    This is when the angry women of Paris looted the armoury for its weapons and marched to the Palace of Versailles because they and their children were starving. They marched to the palace, broke in, and raided the bed chamber, King Louis XVI was not there, but his wife was, although she escaped through a trapped door and was not harmed.

    Louis XVI and his family flee Paris
    Louis XVI and his family tried to flee Paris to Austria, but they failed because they were caught near the Austrian border by a citizen and were arrested. When they got back to Paris they had to stay under arrest and had no other choice.

     Declaration of Pillnitz
    Prussia and Austria issued this document saying that if the French hurt King Louis XVI and his family they would step in with their military, they declared the document after they heard of King Louis XVI and his family being captured when trying to escape.
  • Creation of the Legislative Assembly

    Creation of the Legislative Assembly
    This is when the National Assembly finally completed its constitution, and created the legislative body called the Legislative Assembly, which gave male citizens over 25 who paid taxes the right to vote. It also really limited the monarchy's power.

    March on Tuileries Palace
    This is when a mob attacked the Palace at Tuileries and killed the guards, and then King Louis XVI and his family were demoted to commoners and tossed in prison. Also the Legislative Assembly called for a new legislature, thus creating the National Convention.

    Members of the convection took vote this day to abolish monarchy and establish a republic in France, and they did!

    Execution of King Louis XVI
    King Louis XVI was put on trial for treason, and of course was found guilty, and was executed publically at the guillotine.

    Execution of Marie-Antoinette
    Marie-Antoinette was put on trial for many things that involved being a bad queen of France and even incest with her son. After her trial which lasted a day, she was found guilty and executed publically at the gulliotine.
