Convening the Estate General
It was the event that started the Revolution. The people of the Thrid Estate got overruled by the two others and this caused them to later make the National Assembly. It was over taxes and the First and Second Estate made the Thrid pay all the taxes. -
Tennis Court Oath
It was an act of defiance by the Third Estate during the meeting of the Estates-General. It was at the beginning of the French Revolution. They were locked out of their meeting hall in Versailles they instead move to the indoor tennis court. They then took on oath to never separate until a constitution had been made for France. -
Storming of the Bastille
The Bastille was a politcal prison but the people saw it as a aromory due to the fact that it held gunpowder and weapons so they invaded it and got the gunnpowder and weapons. They cut off the head of the leader of the prison and put it on a pike. -

Great Fear
It was a time a riots and panic by peasants and others spread rumours of a aristocratic conspiracy that the king was going to overthrow the Third Estate.It ended with the peasants seizing the Bastille and the National Constituent Assembly introducing the Declaratoin of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. -
Declaration of the Rights of Man
The basic principle of it was that all "men are born and remain free and equal in rights." It served as the preamble to the Constitution of 1791. It was made by France's National Assembly. It has 17 articles each with a different idea. -
Women's March to Versailles
This event all started because of starvation and the rumour that Versailles were holding tons of bread. 7,000 women armed with pikes, muskets, and pitchforks marched in the rain from Paris to Versailles to gain bread for themselves and their familes. They get the bread from Versailles and then force the Queen and King to live in Paris. -
Louis and Marie Try To Escape France
When Louis XVI tried to escape from the Tuileries Palace in Paris to the eastern front. He was caught at Varennes and was forced back to Paris and he lost credibility. -
Constitution of 1791 is Drafted
It only lasted one year but it took away power from the king but retained the Monarchy and it gave more power to the Legislative Assembly. -

National Convention
It was one of the most critical part of the French Revolution. It was elected to make a new constitution for France after the overthrow of Louis XVI and the Monarchy. Struggles inraged between two opposing Revolutionary groups, the Girondins and the Montagnards and those struggles made up most of the first phase of the Convention. The Montagnards took controll during the second phase. A lot of members of the Convention helped overthrow Maximilien Robespierre. -
Reign of Terror Begins
The Reign of Terror was a period of the French Revolution that ended July 27, 1794. With a civil war spreading from Vendee and enemy armies surrounding France. Once it started a huge wave of executions followed. They killed anyone suspected of being an enemy. -
The Directory Takes Power
The Directory got power from the Constitution of Year III but it only lasted four years. The people were tired of the Terror and this caused for them to make the Directory.
