The king wanted to strength his authority, and also be rescued by foreign armies so he declared war. -

Louis XIV died for treason, judged by Convention. Marie Antoinette was guillotined nine months later. -
Royalists crushed by Napoleon
Royalists tried to seize power in Paris but were crushed by Napoleon. A few days later the National Convention dispersed.
