    French and Indian War
    A conflict between England and France in America that resulted in the Treaty of Paris.
    This angered colonists because it limited their power to take land from Native- Americans west of the Appalachians and they were on the receiving end of the war debt.

    The Sugar Act was a tax imposed on sugar and molasses.
    This angered colonists not only because of the tax but also because the parliament now was trying smugglers in court without any representation, denying their British citizen rights.

    The Stamp Act was a tax on paper goods, the British said that all paper must have a stamp on it, however, the stamps cost money.
    This also angered colonists, so much so that they formed a congress and started a boycott of British goods.

    The declaratory act basically said that the British government still will have the power to tax the colonists and make laws for them.
    Colonists were upset about this because they saw this as a threat to their rights.

    The Townshend Act taxed goods like paper, glass and tea that were imported to the colonies.
    This upset the colonists once again and they boycotted these goods.

    The Tea Act was a tax on tea that the colonists felt they should not have to pay as tea was an essential part of life in the colonies.
    Colonists reacted by dressing up as Indians and dumping an enormous amount of tea into the Boston harbor.
