Freedom From Fear

  • Declaration of Independence

Although this may not be considered a freedom from fear, we have declared ourselves as independent as a nation in which we are free from British rule.
  • Second Amendment

As citizens, we want to feel protected in our own community and environments. An example of a solution to our right to feel protected is passing the second amendment : the right to bear arms for one’s own defense. This amendment was passed on (December 17, 1791).
  • 9/11

Our nation should feel safe and shouldn’t fear acts of aggression and/or terrorism in our country, example: 9/11. The outcome of this tragedy is that the U.S. enforced more security precautions in crowded areas and especially in airports.
  • Coronavirus

Relating to the freedom of speech for coronavirus, we also have freedom from fear of the coronavirus. With that, we are expected to stay home and quarantine ourselves. Essential businesses are open for those who need them, and we have options to test people who fear they may contain the virus.
