This is when I was born and now I am 15 yrs old. -
Coming into Ellis Island and why.
I am now in Ellis Island. I am leaving my home country becuase I need a job and a house to live in. Back in Germany there aren't much jobs. I also hope that they pay me good, but I don't think they will pay me what an average American is paid. -
My job
A year has gone by and I found a job in the city, it is sewing clothes. Here there are girls my age (17). They pay me good, but not what the other girls make. The girls here are nice and they treat me good, my boss on the other hand is somewhat okay, he's not the best. -
Working time at the factory
I don't really understand why some of the workers are leaving, I don't get some of the things that these people are doing. I have been working here for about a half a month. From what I have been hearing from other people is that it is not a good place to work at because it is not safe for when a fire comes, but I still work here, because I need the money.
