Election Theodore Roosevelt
The United States presidential election was on 1904. Roosevelt had succeeded to the Presidency upon William McKinley's assassination. During the election campaign, Roosevelt called on the voters to support his "square deal" policies. The nominee of the Democratic Party was Alton B. Parker, Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals, who appealed for an end to what he called "rule of individual caprice" and "usurpation of authority" by the president. -
Revenue Act of 1913
The Underwood Tariff of 1913 gave the first major tariff decrease since the Civil War. The rates for Tariff import went down to 40 percent to less then 30 percent. The congress had increase taxes for tariff loss. The more the person earned the higher the percent went. -
The Election of 1916
As the 1916 election came Roosevelt refused to run as progressive candidate. The Bull Moose Party dissolved so they had to find out who they are following. It was either Hughes or Wilson. The election was close Hughes was thinking he was becoming president but Wilson had been reelected. During the second term Wilson was forced to deal with Word War 1. Also Europe, Latin America, and also Prohibition and Women Suffrage. From this the Eighteenth Amendment happen in 1919. -
Declares war on Germany
America was loaning the allies money for the supple they needed for war. Since America was doing this Germany did not like this. This started Germany attacked submarine, merchant ship, and sank some ships also. They would stop the America ships at sea and searched them.When sinking the R.M.S Lusitania Woodrow Wilson declares war. -
Armistice Day
On November of 1918 Germany had finally agreed to stop fighting between America. But in 1926 they changed the day to be known as Veteran's Day. This day is represented for all the Veteran's who ever fought in war, have lost a loved one, or who now away from there loves one in war. It's a day were we thank God that he has given us a free county. -
Treaty of Versailles
This was the end of the war of World War 1.Who ever lost and Germany did had to take the blame for everything. This set peace to the Allies. From this Germany payed for the Dawns Plan and the Young Plan. But in 1932 the plans were cancelled.
