In 1754 at the Albany Congress, Ben Franklin proposed a formation of a strong union of the colonies under one single government and direction leading to national development.

Stamp Act

Nov 1, 1765

First directed British Tax onto American Coolonist in 1765. The Sons of liberty wer formed and gave colonist a model for continental congress.

Boston Massacre

In 1770 Americans protesting against large amount of protestors in the city of Boston. This helped spark the desire of colonist to strive for independence.

Boston Tea Party

In Boston on December 16, 1773 Adams called a gathering for the Boston Tea Party.. The first big step into the American Revolution

Intolerable Acts

Apr 3, 1774

This act was the American Patriots' name for a series of punitive laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774 after the Boston Tea party.

First Continental Congress

Sep 5, 1774

This meeting of delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies that met on September 5 to October 26, 1774 in Philidelphia. This was also in response to intolerable acts and led to the second congress.

Second Continental Congress

May 10, 1775

In 1775, The revolutionary war had already started. Dlegates met up in Philidelphia to create the continental army. This help lead to the discussion of the declaration of independence.

Decleration of Independence

Jul 4, 1776

On July 4th of 1776 American Colonies were declared as independent from the British. Today we still use this document.
