The Korean War
This was a proxy of the cold war because the U.S. and the Soviet Union could not get into a direct conflict with one another. The Soviet Union saw the invasion of North Korea in South Korea as a perfect opportunity to spread communism. The U.S. sought to contain this and entered the war backing South Korea. -
