F & I War
Britain went against the colonists and Indians and won land. Britain had gained land over a couple of years. The Treaty of Paris ends the ability to gain territory in North America. -
Proclamation of 1763
Since the British had won the war, so they made a “wall”. They won the Appalachian Mountains, so the colonists couldn’t go and meet the Indians and have or plan meetings. -
Sugar Act
Due to the British being in debt because of the French and Indian war and from gaining more land. So due to being in debt, so they told the colonists that they were limiting the sugar and the colonists also couldn’t buy a lot of sugar. -
Stamp Act
The Britsh would tax the colonists for papers, magazines, etc. basically anything to read or to send to one another. -
Boston Massacre
One day angry townspeople were throwing sticks, rocks at the Redcoats, and one of the Redcoats got nervous and shot fire into the crowd, and killed five innocent people, and some others were wounded. -
Boston Tea Party
Colonists got mad at Britain for taxing them, so the Sons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans and dumped 342 chests of tea into the ocean. -
Tea Act
The British taxed the Colonists for the tea they made and sold. Britain is also limited to buying only from certain companies. -
Intolerable Act
The purpose of this act was to punish or hurt the colonists to stop the colonists from seeing each other or having town meetings anymore. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
The British wanted to take their guns and other weapons to use them during battles or wars. -
Olive Branch Petition
The Colonists were tired of the violence and tried getting Britain to stop but Britain said no and had other plans for other wars and battles.
