Fidel Castro was born on August 13, 1926. He was born in Barin, Cuba. He had six other siblings. He had a good education and other things made him want to be in power. -
Havana University
Fidel Castro got into Havana University in Jan 1, 1945. When he was there he got into human activism. At that point he swiched his career paths and headed into the army that was after that batista government. -

Prison
On July 26, 1953, Castro and about 150 people attacked the Moncada military barracks. This was right outside of the Santiago de Cuba. They were attempting to overthrow Fulgencio Batista, though this failed and in Oct. 16, 1953, Fidel Castro was thrown in prison for 15 years. -
Prime Minister
On the date of February 16, 1959 Fidel Castro is thrown into position of prime minister of Cuba. This happen because he got Fulgencio Batista to flee the government. Batista was the dictator from 1952 to 1959. -
Dwight Eisenhower
On Jan. 3, 1961, Dwight Eisenhower stopped the “diplomatic negotiations” between Cuba and America. Castro made Cuba a Socialist Company. This happen on April 14, 1962 -
Overthrow Castro
On April 17, 1961, some people wanted to overthrow Castro's power. It has been noted as a fact that the Americans were behind it, but it was false. They tried to overthrow Castro but they failed and surrendered within a day. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
On Oct. 14, 1962 the Cuban Missile Crisis lasted over 13 days. Castro provokes a standoff between Moscow and Washington with missiles. Lots were scared that a nuclear war would happen. Then the Soviet Union stops the missiles after John F. Kennedy imposes naval blockade. -
Cuban Communist Party
Oct. 17, 1965, Castro founds a new Cuban Communist Party. He names it First Secretary. Castro would run this. -
Castro's Brothers
On July 31, 2006, he let his brother in charge, Raul, temporarily because of his health. This was just till 2008. During that 2 year time period Castro didn't regain his strength. -
Death
On November 25, 2016, in Havana, Cuba, Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz dies. They don't know why or how but Castro was in bad health since at least 2008. The Cuban government declared a 9 day of mourning after he died. He survived over 600 assassinations.
