    Castro and other rebels attack the Moncada Barracks
    On July 26, 1953 Castro and his men attacked Moncada Barracks. This was the first major move Castro would make in his attempt to take down Batista. The attack, which was planned to help the revolution by providing Castro's men with better weaponry, failed. This failure would help to fuel Castro's efforts to win.     On January 1, 1959 Batista was forced out of power by Castro and his men. This showed Castro's great determination, as at points he was cut down to a dozen men and half a dozen rifles.Although it might have seemed impossible, his belief that he would claim victory no matter what, and perseverance led to his victory.     On January 8, 1959 Castro took power in Cuba. He gained a lot of support from the Cuban people during his Revolution. This led to little push-back from the people when he took control on the Cuban Government. This leads to Castro's reign and refusal to hold democratic election, which he promised to the people during the revolution, as he said his opponents would be destroyed by him in the polls,as he thought everyone would love him.     On April 19, 1961 the U.S.A. launched an invasion on Cuba called the "Bay Of Pigs". It was meant to remove Castro from power in Cuba. The attack was a failure. The U.S. soldiers couldn't adapt to the land and would be driven out by Castro's forces. This was a major increase in Cuban nationalism as the small country had fended of the United States. Although being on the brink of a nuclear war for those thirteen days, the missiles were removed.     on July 20, 1969 the first man walked on the moon. This was a amazing achievement for all of mankind as is showed our technological advances. A century before this, cars weren't even on the road yet. Then within 100 years we go from horses to space travel.     in 1976, a Constitution was introduced to Cuba, after not having one for 16 years. The document gave the people of Cuba access to free health care, schooling as well as freedom of speech and other rights. This showed Castro's loosening as a Dictator as he allowed his people to now speak their minds and gave them other rights through this Constitution. This showedthe true weakness and instability of Cuba as they relied so heavily on the Soviet Union to keep their economy going.     On July 31, 2008 Fidel Castro handed over control of Cuba to his brother, Raul Castro. This happened as Fidel got very sick in his old age and could no longer run the country. This was a good thing as Raul was less communist then his brother and could possibly restore the economy. He also has improved relations with nearby countries during his rule.     On November 25, 2016 Fidel Castro died. He left his impact on the world through his reign as Cuban Dictator. He brought along a lot of change to Cuba, some progressive, well other ideas hurt the country. He brought the world to the edge of a nuclear war.
