Day 1: A Briefing of the U-2 Findings is Made
President Kennedy and the national defense officials are informed of the U-2 findings. They begin to discuss how they want to approach this challenge. They come up with ideas: a strike and invasion or quarantine military with the threat of future attack. Kennedy stuck to his regular schedule to avoid causing concern of the citizens of the United States. -

Day 2: American Military Takes Action
The American military began to move their base towards the southeastern part of the United States. They took action after they received photos of more missiles. On this day president Kennedy attended a mass for the national day of prayer, he then has lunch with Crown Prince Hasan of Libya, and travels to Connecticut to support the democratic candidates. -
Day 3: Soviet Minister Visits Kennedy
The foreign minister of the Soviet Union visits Presdient Kennedy, he wanted to inform Kennedy that the Soviet aid to Cuba was not meant as a threat to the United States. Kennedy did not tell him that he knew of the missiles but told him that the "gravest of consequences" would be given if the Soviet offense weapons were given to Cuba. -
Day 4: Kennedy Travels
President Kennedy travels to Ohio and Illinios for a scheduled campaign. Meanwhile in Washington D.C., Kennedy's advisers continue the debate of what the proper action to make is concerning the missile crisis. -
Day 5: Action is Made
President Kennedy suddenly returns to the White House in Washington D.C. To meet up with his advisors. They have decided on the ide of quarantine. They then begin to draw up plans for the United States Naval. Kennedy also begins to prepare a speech to inform citizens of the United States of their plans. -
Day 6: an Important Meeting Occurs
Presid et Kennedy attended mass at St. Stephens with his wife, Mrs. Kennedy. After mass he met with General Walter Sweeney who is with the Tactical Air Command, he informs Kennedy that when they strike there is not a 100% chance of destruction of missiles. -
Day 7: A Series of Phone Calls are Made
Kennedy calls former presidents Eisenhower, Hoover, Truman, and the Prime Minister of Bitian; he informs them of everything going on with the Cuban Crisis. Kennedy puts together the Executive Committee of the National Security Council and they are told to meet daily for as long as the crisis lasts. Kennedy writes a letter to the Prime Minister of the Soviet Union to inform him that starting a nuclear war would not result in 1 country winning. Kennedy also appears on t.v. -
Day 8: Day of Action
The naval ships that were quarantined start moving towards Cuba. Soviet Union sends submarines with supplies toward the Caribbean Sea. Kennedy asks that Russia stops the movement of the submarines because he does not want to have to fire at them and cause a war between the super powers. -
Day 9: Kennedy Receives a Letter from the Soviet Union
Chairman Khrushchev Replies to President Kennedy's letter. He states that Kennedy's reasons for wanting him to retreat his ships are not good. He claims that by listening to Kennedy's request he would be backing down because this request acts as a threat. -
Day 10: President Kennedy Personally Writes a Letter to Premier Khrushchev
At this point there are now missiles in Cuba that are opperating. Some of the Soviet ships head back to Europe and there is much debate between the United States and the Soviet Union. -
Day 11: Soviet Freighter is Stopped
A Soviet Frieghter is stopped at the quarantine line and searched for supplies, when no supplies are found the ship is allowed to continue. A letter is sent to Nikita Khrushchev saying that if an invasion of Cuba is made by the United States, he should initiate a nuclear attack on the United States. Aleksander Fomin of the Soviet embassy staff Informs an ABC news reporter of a solution to the Crisis. -
Day 12: Major Rudolph Anderson, a US Pilot is Killed
Washington D.C. receives another letter from Moscow, this letter demands tougher terms concerning the missiles. Soviet Union missile shoots down an American U-2 plane. Kennedy wrote a letter to inform the pilots wife, Kennedy also gives him a military award. -
Day 13: The Crisis Comes to an End
The Soviet Union agrees to the proposal of the solution to the Cuban Missile Crisis and send to missiles back to Europe. They write a letter to the United States stating that the missiles will be removed in exchange for a non-invasion agreement from the United States.
