Week 4 Development
Face and neck structures began to develop, as well as blood vessles and the heart. Lungs, stomache, and liver all develop near the end of the first 4 weeks. -
Conception
The sperm and egg meet, and fertilization happens. The cells begin to devide and the egg moves through the filopian tube into the uterus. The egg then attaches to the walls of the uterus. -
Week 8 Development
Fetus is now half an inch in size. Eyelids, ears, arms, legs, finger, and toes all begin to form. Fingers and toes become more long and defined. -
Week 12 Development
Fetus measures around 2 inches, and begans to make its own movements. Fetal heartbeat can be heard, as well as the sex of the fetus. -
Week 16 Development
Fetus now measures in at 4.3 to 4.6 inches. Heart and blood vessles are fully formed. Fetues is now able to blink , and has finger and toe prints. -
Week 20 Development
Fetus is 6 inches long is weighs about 10 ounces. Fetus is now able to suck its thumb, yawn, move, and make faces. -
Week 28 Development
The fetus weights around 2.6 pounds, and is now able to move positions quite often. Most premature babies are born around this stage of development. -
Week 24 Development
Fetus now weights around 1.4 pounds, and is able to respond to sounds. The inner ear is fully developed, which allows them to control balance and tell if they're upside down. -
Week 36 Development
On avarage the fetus is around 18.5 inches long and weights around 6 pounds. The brain is rapidly developed and the lungs as well as many other organs are maturing. -
Week 32 Development
Fetus weights almost 4 pounds, and between now and delivery will gain half its body weight. Fat layers began to form under the skin, leadin to fewer wrinkles on the fetuses body. -
Delivery
The fetus is delivered at around the 40 week mark.
