    • weighs about 1 ounce and facial features become clear
    • can swallow, suck thumb, hiccup, and move around
  • Month 5

    • Hair, lashes, and eyebrows form
    • weighs 4-5 ounces and is size of 6-7 inches
    • teeth develop further
    • becoming more active
  • Month 6

    • Size is about 8-10 inches
    • Breathing begins
    • 8-12 ounces
    • fat starts to deposit under skin
  • Month 7

    • 10-12 inches in size
    • weighs 1.5-2 pounds
    • Has activity of activity and periods of rest
  • Month 8

    • 14-16 inches
    • Rapid gaining weight
    • may react to loud noises with a jerk
    • moves into a head-down position

    • Descends into pelvis
    • size is 17-18 inches and weighs 5-6 pounds
    • movements decrease with less room to move around
    • Acquires antibodies to fight off diseases
