  • The First Step of Many

    Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were closed and unable to attend the World Anti-Slavery Convection, that was in London. This caused them to act against the government and fight for more rights.
  • The Second Act

    Seneca Falls, New York is the first location for the Women's Rights Convention. During this Elizabeth Cady Stanton write the Declaration of Sentiments, this creating the agenda for many women activists to come. This sparks the future for women rights activist to know what to do to achieve there goals and move forward.
  • The First of Many Rights

    First state constitution of California extends property rights to women This allows women to receive more rights and keep fighting for more, knowing that they are citizens too.
  • The Second Convection

    During the second convection in Worcestor, Massachusetts Sojourner Truth- a former slave, gave her speech of "Ain't I a Women" This helped to motivate congress and government to take actions and help women obtain the rights they are fighting for.
  • Civil War

    During the Civil War the women movement comes to a slow movement to help America with helping toward war efforts. This event slowed down the womens movement so they were able to help the US fight
  • Womens Club

    Caroline Seymour Severance creates the New England Women's Club. Sparked a movement "Mother of Clubs" and became very popular. Created this club to help spark more womens interest in fighting for there rights and helps them to stand up for more of what they believe in.
  • Women Journal

    The Womens Journal was founded and edited by Mary Livermore, Lucy Stone, and Henry Blackwell Helped to inspire more people to stand up and fight, this allowed other women to know that it was an active fight they could get involved in
  • Fight, Fight, Fight

    Victoria Woodhull fights the House Judciary Committee, fighting for women's rights to vote under the 14th amendment. This year the Anti-Suffrage Party is founded. The women felt that it was against the constitution to not be allowed to vote and they wanted to ratify this to allow them to be able to vote.
  • The First Vote

    The first vote on women suffrage was taken to the senate, although they made it to the Senate they were defeated. This sparked power for the women to fight for more knowing they were making progress even though they lost
  • Council

    The National Council of Women in the US is created to increase the advancement of Womens rights in society. This allowed women to see the change they are making in government and to push for more.
  • Council Formed

    NWSA and AWSA merge and creates the National American Women Suffrage Association. This helps secure the movement on a state level. This allowed them to see a bigger change and they were getting closer to their goal that they were fighting for
  • Colorado

    Colorado adopts women suffrage This is the first of many states adopting suffrage and allowing women to gain more rights
  • Movement

    Womens Political Union creates first suffrage parade in NYC, Washington adopts women suffrage. More states start following Colorado and allow people to see the movement that they have been fighting for is working.
  • Change

    In Arkansas women are allowed to vote in Primary elections, the first women is elected to Congress, and NY gave women suffrage. Women are allowed to vote in elections showing us the change they have been fighting for.
  • Ratification

    The Senate passes the 19th amendment and ratification begins. This allows the government to get more involved and women see the change
  • Gaining Rights

    The state legislatures ratify the 19th amendment, women are allowed full voting rights. Women finally get what they have been fighting for all these years and it allows us to feel more like a citizen and feel more useful instead of being treated as an outsider.
