As a 7th grader in 2010, I had my first experiences in an FCS classroom. I took Foods for Today and Principles of Hospitality and Tourism. -
My FCS Role Model
In 2013, I enrolled in Mrs. McCann's Principles of Education and Training class. She had a huge impact on my education and is the reason I wanted to become an FCS teacher! -
First Job & Marketing Dynamics
In 2014, I was hired at a local bakery in Kingwood, TX. This was my first job and I was earning high school credit while I was at work! I studied Marketing in class and then recieved on-site field experience as part of this worked-based learning opportunity. -
Texas Tech University and the TECHniques Center
In 2015, I graduated from Kingwood High School and in the fall I started classes as a Family and Consumer Sciences student at Texas Tech University. In 2017, I started my job as an academic tutor at the TECHniques Center. At the TECHniques Center, I tutored students in classes related to FCS. -
Interning at the Creativity Shell
In the summer of 2018, I was brought on as a Senior Intern at the Creativity Shell in Kingwood, TX. Here I instructed young children how to cook, bake, sew, craft, etc. This reinforced my love for teaching and FCS!
