Cuffed Jeans
In the early 1900's century many people found a cool way to style their denim jeans. Since the style back then was boot cut, or more relaxed style, people started rolling each leg of the jeans tightly around their ankle finding ways to make them stay tightly rolled. It was definitely a different style and looked original. It has still been around in the early 2000's, but you don't see it that much anymore because of skinny and slim fit jeans taking over, so there is no need for cuffing. -
Garden Hat
Probably the most popular style of women's hats in the early 1920's was the Garden hat. It was very wide brimmed with a decoration like a flower or ribbon on the hood. It was very trendy, as the women would usually wear a lot of white dresses and these hats would pair great with them. -
Mafia Look
The reason I call these outfits the mafia look is because this trend was around the time when rock n roll became popular and dancing around parties while looking like a mafia boss became the norm. It consists of men wearing a button down or suit with suspenders, a fedora, and occasionally holding a cigar to look "cooler." -
Colorful Miniskirts
These skirts were unbelievably short, with a psychedelic color to them. They were very common with headbands. Teenage girls really made this style popular and is influential on the reason girls are wearing short skirts today. -
Tucked jeans and plaid.
There were a lot of men switching from hard colors to plaid shirts tucked into their pants with ties. The mullet and bowl haircut were also popular and seen with this style. Before this, pants were normally dark colored and true to the american style, but this time period gave some freedom and choice to color. -
Bad Boy
Here is one of the most iconic styles in our history. Teenage boys accomplished the look of this style by wearing very popular leather jackets, with skinny jeans and sometimes slicked back hair. This was also the first time skinny jeans were introduced to everyone, and are one of the most worn items of clothing to this day. -
Sagging Pants
One of the most controversial and argumentative styles of trends are the sagging of the pants. This is when men wear the top of the pant line sometimes as low as their thighs instead of against the waist line. Many parents of teens hate the look of this, and school administrators have had this trend dress coded recently because it is considered inappropriate. This trend was also inspired by rappers. -
Denim Everything
Now, denim based clothes have already been out for a while but around the early-mid 2000's, everybody want everything in denim. Literally hats, belts, skirts for women, and random items. Also, we saw lace up jeans as another huge fashion trend in teens. -
Dad Shoes
These chunky, double soled, shoes became a trend sometime last year and are still relevant. High class brands like balenciaga, and Louis Vuitton, as well as average class like nike have all dipped in the dad shoe trend and it proved success. They're called "dad shoes" because they are not similar to what we think teens to young adults would normally be wearing, and they are worn with all different types of outfits. -
Street Wear
One of the most popular trends right now being street wear. Targeting older teens and young adults, this style consists of casual clothing, such as over sized hoodies, name brand shirts/jackets/hoodies, etc, and most commonly paired with some type of updated denim (Not always). There are expensive quality brands like Supreme, These items aren't always items that break the bank. Brands like the up and coming Eminent have good quality clothes priced at affordable and justifiable prices.
