    The Industrial Revolution and World War I had an impact on fashion during this decade. The corset was used and the silhouette was exaggerated.
  • The 20's

    The 20's
    Fashion in this age represents the fun and freedom that existed after the war. Loose dresses, low heels, hats and fringes predominate. The corset is discontinued and the hem reaches above the ankle.
  • The 30's

    The 30's
    World War II completely changed the direction of fashion. As the men were going to fight, the women took over not only the houses, but the businesses, and this led them to wear pants. Austerity and dark colors defined this period of fashion.
  • The 40's

    The 40's
    When the war ended, women wanted to look glamorous again, which is why the cult of beauty defined fashion during these years. Bright colors and excess fabrics returned. The hem reached below the knee.
  • Mid 20th century

    Mid 20th century
    At this stage, American consumerism and ready to wear began. Pastel colors, long skirts and leather jackets were used. Femininity predominates in all the designs of this era.

    The 60's
    The feminist and flower power movements had a great impact on fashion, as the miniskirt was born and there is an explosion of colors. Flared pants and cotton fabrics predominate during this decade. Clothes are based on creativity and originality.

    It was the disco era. Synthetic fabrics like lycra and platform shoes topped the fashion scene during the 1970s. The psychedelic look is created and the use of prints predominates.

    The 80's
    This era is characterized by rebellion in fashion and disco inspiration; the shoulder pads, sequins and leather stand out. Denim becomes an icon and everyone uses it, not only the workers as it used to be.

    It's the age of supermodels and grounge style. Converse and t-shirts predominate in this age when the look was sloppy and unkempt.

    A New Century, the 2000's
    Pop culture and the cult of celebrities is what most influenced fashion during this era. Low waist pants and skirts were used, as well as glitter and denim. It could be considered one of the worst times for fashion.

    The 2010's
    Fast fashion is what prevails today. There are no longer two collections a year as before, but there are six mini collections. Mass production has reached another level.

    Now fashion is a popular aesthetic expression at a particular time and place and in a specific context, especially in clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle, and body proportions.
