    The Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus (Jupiter the Best and Greatest)

    The Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus is very famous. Dedicated to Juno, Minerva, and of course, Jupiter. It is built on a tall hill, and this was no coincidence. The Romans did this with many important buildings. Though impressive, it has been through quite a lot. It has been destroyed through fires and wars, but it was rebuilt.

    The Baths of Diocletian

    The baths of Diocletian are the largest baths in Rome. They had 3 different baths, which were hot, cold, and warm. Decorated with statues and mosaics, they even had a library and a gym!

    The Baths of Caracalla

    The Baths of Caracalla come in second in size (behind the Baths of Diocletian), but they are the most beautiful. Elaborately decorated with sculptures and beautiful works of art, and a garden, library, gym, and temple.

    The Colosseum is built

    From 72 AD to 80 AD, the Roman emperor Vespasian had the Colosseum built. Made of stone, this massive structure could seat thousands of spectators, and is probably one of the most famous Roman buildings.

    The Pantheon

    The Pantheon
    In 27 BC, the Pantheon was constructed. Made of brick and concrete, it also used to be faced with marble. According to Romeonsegway, the Pantheon is the best preserved Roman building.

    The Circus Maximus

    The Circus Maximus
    In 6 BC, the Circus Maximus was built. It turned into the shape it is now (oval) by Julius Caesar. It could hold 250,000 people, with stone and cement seats on the lower rows, and wood seats for the rest. It had a huge track, and 12 starting gates! It was later abandoned, however, but then it was excavated.
