Black Death
The black death was a huge outbreak of plague carried by rat fleas. It killed 25 million people and one-third of the population. For a while, no one knew how the infection started. It was feared all through Europe. -

Guns
The first guns appeared in Europe. It was called a vaso, named after the italian name for vase, because thats what it looked like. To work it, you put a piece of red hot iron into the vent. What left the vent was a kind of arrow called a dart. -

Improvements
Major improvements were made in sailing ships. The changes that were made were expanded durability, larger sizes, and cargo hold. Better sails and rigging increased maneuverability.
