At sea for 30 days. Jobs on the ship
On this ship there are many jobs you can have. The pilot is in charge of navagation. The boatswain is probably the most experianced sailor their is, he is in charge of the sails and general charge of the crew. The gunner was an expert in the ship's armaments, and used gun powder to ready the cannons. The carpender did everything he could to keep the ship in good shape. And theres also a barber. Im the boatswain. Which i really didnt want to be but its better that nothing. -

How life on the caravel works.
It's very rough living on a caravel. Theres tons of dangers we run into. Were not that healthy wither, we have to fight sickness, and its very filthy. Being a crew member can be very exausting. Teh work that the crew and i do can be very hard, and punishment for disobeying can be very brutal. Food was hard to get also. it was mainly salty meat and hardtack. It was hard to find fish, oil, cheese and beans to eat, so we had to deal with the hardtack and salty meat. -

Punishments I have gotten in the past week.
we also have punishments if we do something wrong. wWe were normally whipped with a rope. The number of whips are proportioned. Like if you steel food it can go up to 99 whips. There are also different punishments like getting suspended upside down from the ceiling from your wrists, which happened to my friend the other day. ive gotten whipped many times as a punishment but never hung. There is something also called a toka, which happened to one of the crew members a while back. -

Port Guangzhou
Our ship arrived at Guangzhou in southern China in 1517. And other ships arrived in years that followed. China's imperial authorities were annoyed by us not behaving with proper deference. The Chinease saw us as crude, barbaric and as thieves and expelled them from Canton. -
