Navigation Acts
The english crowm passed the navigation acts requiring the use of british ships to transport goods. Limits the transportation of comodities to england or its colonies. Angered the dutch because it hurt their trade profits. -
new slave laws
Maryland passes laws that make life time service mandatory for slaves. Slaves can no longer get out of service by converting to christianity. Similar laws are later passed in New York, New Jersey, the Carolinas and Virginia. -
Tuscarora Indian war
Conflict breaks out between natives and colonists in North Carolina. This eventually lead to a war that lasted 2 years. The colonists defeated the natives and drove them out of North Carolina. -

England declares war on France in 1756. Many battles won and lost between France and England. War ends in 1763 with The Treaty of Paris granting England all french territory east of the Mississippi River except New Orleans. -
American Revolutionary War starts
Tension rose between the 13 colonies and the the british government leading to war. France joined on the side of the colonists in 1778. The colonists had won independence in 1779 but fighting did not stop till 1783.
