The legend of Zelda for Famicom was the first game realeased,It centers its plot around a boy named Link, who becomes the central protagonist throughout the series.

This was the second game released by Myamoto in the history of the game, this one was also made for the Famicom console

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past
This game is the third one in The Legend of Zelda series, and the first and only one for the Super Nintendo Console.
After the RPG (role playing game) mode in the Adventure of Link, a Link to the Past was a return to the overhead view and gameplay style of the original game.

Since its release it had been popular among fans and game critics.

Ocarina Of Time is the fourth game of the series, and the first game released for the nintendo 64 game console.
This game was one of the most anticipated games of its age.It is also listed by numerous websites and magazines among the greatest video games ever created.This game was really succesfull for nintendo. G4 television declared it "the #1 game of all time.

Majora's Mask is the sixth game in The Legend of Zelda series, it was released for Nintendo 64.
This game has a unique feature, it has a 3-day time system (72 hours in total), so the game time is conected to your real life time.
Also in this game Ganon and Zelda characters are not visible in the game, because the story of the game is based on an apocalypse.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracles of Ages/ Oracle of Seasons
This games are a part of capcom's oracle series, they're made for the game boy color console and for game boy advance.
they featured an advance shop when played on the new handheld system
and after completing one of the two games, they can be linked to form a single, linear plot with an alternate ending.
Game-linking also unlocks extra content, such as new items.
and instead of Zelda, Nayru was the main character in the game.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Wind Waker is the tenth installment of the Zelda series. It is the first Zelda game for the Nintendo GameCube.

this game is the eleventh one of the Zelda series. It incorporates a graphical style that combines Four Swords and A Link to the Past.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Phantom Hourglass is the first Legend of Zelda game for the Nintendo DS, and is a direct sequel to The Wind Waker.
The development team for Phantom Hourglass has many returning developers from Four Swords Adventures, many of whom, in turn, were chosen to work on A Link to the Past
link's movement and habilities are controled by the stylus pen.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Spirit Tracks is the second Zelda game for the Nintendo DS and the 15th in The game series.
It uses the same cel-shaded layout and game-play interface as Phantom Hourglass, but a train is the main method of transportation, replacing the steamboat of Phantom Hourglass.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
this game is the 16th game of Zelda series.
It is the first Legend of Zelda game created specifically with the Wii in mind, and requires Wii Motion Plus.
a special edition Skyward Sword bundle became available, it included a copy of Skyward Sword, a gold Wii Remote Plus. and a CD, with music from The Anniversary Symphony concert.
This game features a beutiful artwork, and also the loftwings which are birds that link can fly with.

Personal Opinion
I made this timeline, because all the games in the Legend of Zelda series are really important for me, and they became part of my life, why? because every game teachs you important values, mostly seen on the triforce (power, wisdom and courage) and Miyamoto, the creator of the game had that intention, not only to entertain people from all ages, but to leave a mark on everyone's heart.
I've been playing this games since I was 6, and it nowadays is my favorite game alongside with pokémon.
