1940 Employee Sponsored Healthcare

1960 Proposal of SSA Extension
This extension later lead to Medicare and Medicaid. Healthcare we still use today (Study.com). -
1986 COBRA
Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act was created for employees who were no longer working. Healthcare was still provided (cuny.edu). -
1990-1994 Healthcare Security Act
Clinton mandated there be competition within insurance -
2006 Massachusetts healthcare reform
Companies with more than 11 employees must provide insurance (Modernhealthcare.com). -
2010 Healthcare Reform Act
Everyone must have health insurance starting in 2014. -
