    From Compromises to Civil War

There were a lot of events that led up to the Civil War but not all were compromises. It started with the Missouri Compromise, then the compromise of 1850, then the Kansas-Nebraska Act, then the Dred Scott case, then the Election of 1860, and finally the Attack on Fort Sumter.

This lead up to the Civil war by giving the south the opportunity of getting their escaped slaves back from the north and made the fugitive slave law.
  • Kansas-Nebraska Act

    Kansas-Nebraska Act
The Kansas-Nebraska Act made Kansas and Nebraska states. In Kansas they had pro-slavery governments and they also had anti-slavery governments. this lead up to the civil war because border ruffians had crossed into Kansas just to make it a slave state. It forced settlers vote on if Kansas and Nebraska should be slave or free states.
  • Dred Scott Decision
