Salutary Neglect
Salutary Neglect was an on going British policy which allowd the colonists to violate the laws associated with trade. As a result of the French and Indian war, The British reversed this policy to tax the colonist and make there money back. The colonist did not like this and it became one of the factors that led them to rebel. -
Treaty of Paris
This treaty ended the french and indian war. In the treaty, France gives up all of its land in North America therefore ending all threats to the British Colonists that lived there. -
The Stamp Act
The stamp act was a tax law put into the place by the British which required the colonists to pay taxes on a number of things. From legal documents and news papers to magazines. I could see how this Act made the colonists want to rebel against the British. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was started as just a simple arcument between Bristish representatives and colonists. The argument escalated quickly and in the end 5 colonists were shot. 3 died instantly and 2 later from flesh wounds. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea party was a protest held by the colonists against to british government. A group of colonists climbed aboard three britsh cargo ships and proceeded to through all of the cartons of tea over board. They threw a totall of 342 chests into the sea. The reason behind this protest was the Tea act. Which was put into place by the East India Trading co. This act required all colonists to pay high taxes on the tea. -
The Battle at Lexington and Concord
This event symbolizes the start of the American revolution. It started when the Bristish army set out to capture the rebel leaders. Lucky the rebels were warned and able to hid themself and there weapons in time. The Battle of Lexington was started by an accidental bullet fired by the rebel army, which forced the colonists to attack. The americans then fled. Winter at Valley Forge
Valley Forge was were the American Army made camp during this winter Because it was colse to were the British were located but fare enough to have plenty of room to attack. It was a place were the American army really learned to unit as one. -
Surrender at yorktown
This was a war won by the Rebels. The British surrendered due to ship loads of solders never arriving.
