What happened?
Colonist picked a fight with the British “Red Coats” and caused a gun fight where 5 People were killed
Why did it happen?
Supposedly the colonist threw snow balls and ice at the British “Red Coats” and teased and mocked them. It is not sure which side started firing there guns.
What happened as a result?
5 people were killed it caused even more tension between the colonist and the British -

East india company monopoly put a tax on importing tea. They rather pay the tax then go with out the tea. In about three hours from the time we went on board, we had thus broken and thrown overboard every tea chest to be found in the ship, while those in the other ships were disposing of the tea in the same way, at the same time. We were surrounded by British armed ships, but no attempt was made to resist us. -

The first shots starting the revolution were fired at Lexington, Massachusetts. On April 18, 1775, British General Thomas Gage sent 700 soldiers to destroy guns and ammunition the colonists had stored in the town of Concor.
