Without a solution for the financial crisis, France is forced to call upon the Estates-General. This is the first they've been assembled since 1614. -

A swiss citizen named Jacques Necker replaces Eteinne Charles de Lomenie de Brienne and becomes Director General of Finances. He devises a plan for a successful Estates-General meeting. -
RIOTING BEGINS
After a period of poverty, two riots break out. Both riots are directed towards to entrepreneurs. -
THE GREAT FEAR
The Great Fear, a period of time when peasants feared revenge from the aristocrats, begins. This won't end until August, when the National Assembly demolishes the rancor felt by both sides. -
FALL OF BASTILLE
After many displays of cruel and unreasonable governing, the people of France begin to fear for their safety. They marched to Bastille, a symbol of cruel and arbitrary rule, and demanded all of their gunpowder. The swiss guards denied them- violently. after two days, Bastille falls. -
THE DECLARATION OF THE RIGHTS OF MAN AND OF CITZEN
The National Assembly adopts "The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of Citzen." This document was inspired by our Declaration of Independence. -
THE WOMEN'S MARCH ON VERSAILLES
Many Parisans, led by a vast number of women, march on Versailles, forcing the royal family back into Paris. They are considered prisoners. -
THE KING FLEES
King Louis XVI and his family attempt to flee. They are caught and brought back to Paris. -
THE EXECUTION OF KING LOUIS XVI
King Louis XVI, after being released, came back to power. His rule was flawed, and plunged France deeper into poverty. On this date, King Louis XVI was executed.
