Treaty of Paris 1763
The Treaty of Paris was a treaty to end the seven years war between Great Britain and France. France agreed to give up any land in North America so that the british would not attack them. -
Proclamation Act
The Royal Proclamation stated that Great Britain could not have settlements beyond a certain point that they took over after the seven years war. The line was drawn at about the Appalachian Mountains. -
The Sugar Act
On April 5th, 1764 Parliament passed a somewhat changed version of the Sugar and Molasses Act of 1733. From then on, every colonial merchant (Sellers of spices,foods, and other goods) had to pay 6 pence per gallon of any foreign molasses importations. -

The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament that made every single american colonist pay tax on every single piece of printed paper they used. This created revenue for Great Britain. -

In 1765 Parliament passed the Quartering Act. This requied the American colonies to house the British soldiers in big enough barracks provided by the colonies. -
Stamp Act Congress
The Stamp Act Congress was a meeting held in New York city, it had representatives from the British colonies in North America. The goal was to create a protest against the taxing of the British. -
Declaration of Rights and Greivances
In 1765 a document was created by the Stamp Act Congress. It stated that the tax imposed by the British was unconstitional without formal consent. It raised fourteen strong points of the colonial protest against British taxation. -
Stamp Act Repealed
In March of 1776 the Stamp act was finally repealed after many american protests.Ironically the same day, parliament passed the Declaratory Act. -
Declaratory Act
Right after the Stamp Act was repealed, Parliament passed the declaratory act. the Declaratory Act was to inforce law on the american colonies because the boycotting of taxation was hurting the English trade. -
Townshend Acts
Named after Charles Townshend, the Parliament passed a series of Acts called the Townshend Acts. These acts were to impose the colonies to create revenue to pay their governors and judges. This was done in attempy to make the colonists loyal to the British Empire. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre started by snowballs throw by American colonists towards British soldiers. The British soldiers were outraged by this and massacred several colonists when it wasn't nessessary. -
Committees of Correspondence
The committees of Correspondence were shadow governments consisting of Patriot leaders. The patriots would share information about the British actions to the colonists. This happened on the day before the Revolutionary War to help to colonists know how to take action the next day. -
Tea Act
The Tea Act, created and passed by Parliament was meant to reduce the smuggling of illegal tea to North America. This forced American colonies to purchase British Tea legally. When American's purchased legal tea then they would be forced to once again pay tax. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a protest by the Sons of Liberty. The protest was in rage of british taxation on tea. the Sons of Liberty took a huge shipment of Tea by the East india Company and tossed it overboard at the Boston Harbor. -
Intolerable Acts
Intolerable Acts is wat the patriots called the laws passed by the British that punished Massechusettes colonists. The laws were passed because the dumping of a large shipment of tea into the Boston Harbor was considered intolerable by the British. -

the first continental congress was meeting held by twelve of the thriteen colonies delagates in Carpenter's Hall in Pennsylvania. The goal of this meeting was to show England that they could form a combined authority so that a resolution with English could be made -

The battles of Lexington and Concord represented the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. This is where the first armed battle took place between the thirteen colonies and Great Britain, and started the Revolutinary War. -

On June in 1775 American troops were under the orders of Artemas Ward. They moved out of there camp to Bunker Hill. Bunker Hill is a hill on Charleston Pennisula overlooking Boston. -
Appeal to Reason Rejected
In July of 1775, a petetion was created by the Americans in a final attempt to stop the Revolutionary War. The petition was called the Olive BRanch petition. John Adams opposed this and claimed that the war was going to happen either way, so he sent a letter to the king of Great Britain. The letter arrived at about the same time the petition did. The king decided to not even look at the petiotion or the letter and straight up rejected it. -
Declaration of Independence
The declaration of Independence was a statement create to confirm that the the thirteen colonies were no loner a part of the British Empire. It was create by the conitinental congress of Philadeplhia.
