The time period between the fall of Rome and the Renaissance. It was nicknamed "the dark ages" because little was written or known about this time frame. The middle ages tell us more about the Renaissance than it does itself.

Fall of the Roman Empire
In 410 C.E., the Visigoths reached the walls of Rome and destroyed the city. They luted, burned, and trashed their way through the city. It was the first time the city of Rome had been in the hands of someone who wasn't Roman.

Began when places began to become more industrialized than urban. It was a time where manufacturing was growing and new ways of making things were coming about. It was the booming time of factories and workers working for them. It was a change in the economy.

The French Revolution was a political and social disagreement that led to a revolution. The conflict was between the monarchy and the nobility over the possibility of reforming the tax system. World War II
A war amongst almost every part of the world. The war started when Hitler(Germany) invaded Poland. After being blamed for WW1, Germany felt that after the treaty of Versailles, they needed to revolt. The war ended in the defeat of Hitler.

Fall of the Berlin Wall
The Berlin wall was put up in 1961, it divided eastern and western Berlin. One side thrived while the other didn't and when anyone tried to cross, they were killed. in 1989 the East German government announced citizens could visit West Germany. Crowds climbed over the wall causing it to be no more, and the wall was taken down slowly as time went on.

Collapse of the Soviet Union
The USSR began to lose control over Eastern Europe after the Soviet Union's oil and gas revenue dropped. Gorbachev ended up resigning as the leader of the USSR, therefore causing the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Creation of the European Union
