The Roman laws that were written on bronze tablets and they said that all free citizens had the right to be treated equally. And finally by granting people citizenship the romans were now able to build a very strong state with loyal members.

Also most of the merchants that lived in Florence, Rome and Venice became greatly wealthy from trading with Asia and other countries around them.
