    The word renaissance is French for "rebirth". The European's were interested in the art and ideas of the Ancient Greeks and Romans. Great work was done in art and science.

    These were holy wars between Christians and Muslims. The Christians fought to take Jerusalem from the Muslims. The Christians won the Holy Land , but the Muslims got the back.

    The Middle Ages

    The Middle Ages
    Many people lived under the feudal system. IN this system, every one had a place in society. Most medieval society was divided into 3 classes: nobles, clergy, and serfs. Duke William of Normandy brought feudalism to England, when he conquered them in 1066.

    Alexander the Great

    Alexander the Great
    Alexander was the son of King Phillip of Macedonia. He set out to conquer the world. Alexander brought Greek ideas and culture to the lands he conquered.

    The Black Plague

    A ship from the east docked in present-day Italy. Two sick sailors got off the boat, carrying the plague with them. Most of Europe's population got wiped out.
