Flying home to the USA after getting adopted
I flew home to Chicago,IL, on my first birthday, August 27th. I was adopted in China by the Naples family. When they first got me I ran away which lead to my first steps as a baby. -
First day of preschool
I made lots of friends. I went to Beard Elementary for Preschool. I don't remember much, but this one kid would always bully me because I'd hangout with the boys that were his friends. Even so, I enjoyed preschool experience. Some kids from my preschool go to Taft now. -
First Day of Kindergarten
This was my first day of kindergarten at O.A. Thorp, I made lots of friends. I normally hung out with boys. Sadly, I am no longer in contact with any of them. -
Adopting Little Sister
In 2011, my family and I flew to Beijing, China to adopt my little sister, Isabella. She was 3 years old at that time. I became an older sister. My older sister Lilly has been a good role model on how an older sister should be and that is how I was to my little sister. -
Kindergarten Graduation
This always occurs after you are done with kindergarten in June. The theme was hawaiian. My teacher, Ms. Morales was one of the best Kindergarten teachers because I remember classes with her was always fun. -
3rd grade - Assisted with Special Education classes
In 3rd grade I was chosen as a helper along with another classmate and we were taken out of class at times to hangout and interact with the Special Education classes. I enjoyed it a lot and was able to develop my caring personality from there. -
Super Honor Roll - 4th Grade
I won Super Honor Roll in 4th grade and was called with other students to stand on stage. I was so confused and frighten because I never knew I'd get straight A's, nevertheless be called on stage. -
5th Grade - Wax Museum
I had to pretend to be Harriet Tubman, I inquired information about her and gave a speech when my button was pressed. Hosted by Mrs. Gantz, hummaties teacher. -
Fifth Grade Kindergarten Buddies
I showed responsibility by taking care of someone younger than me. My class would head down to the first floor of our school to spend time with the Kindergarten class teaching our buddies or helping them out with the assignment they are on. My buddie's name was Iman. -
Shrek the Musical
I was a risk taker back in the fall of 2016 and did my first play. It was my first time actually performing in front of a large crowd acting. I was the ugly duckling story character. -
Being a risktaker, ziplining over forests in Mexico
Around age 10 I went to Mexico with my family and I hiked with my mom and went ziplining over forests from mountain to mountain. It was scary but also exciting. -
First Debate Tournament
In grade school I joined debate in 7th grade and continued on in 8th. It was stressful but my debate coach Ms. Littleton was one of the best coaches to have. -
Tutoring Kindergarteners Voluntarily
Half of the year in 7th grade my friends and I would skip our recess and lunch to help some Kindergarten teachers with students they needed extra help with because they were falling behind and didn't listen too much to them. -
8th grade graduation
I graduated from O.A Thorp in 2018. I went to that school my whole elementary life. I graduated in June 2018. I helped make the 2018 class collage, I showed that I can be creative. -
Freshmen Year
First day of Freshmen year I was quiet since I relapsed in Social Anxiety. It was hard making friends at first. I made some friends at first but felt out of place. I ended up spending my time in the library that year during lunch. I made three great friends to hangout with sooner in the year during lunch. -
1st International Night Performance
I performed with Chinese Club the first year it was created. I never thought I would be dancing on stage in front of thousands of people throughout the day. SInce I am short I was the first person to be seen. We did a fan dance. -
Adopted Dog From Wright Way Rescue
One if the best part of my life was getting my dog Georgia. She is a pitbull boxer mix. Mainly a mutt. She is currently 2 years old now, we got her back in February near the end of my freshmen year. Time flew fast. -
Cooking Dinner for Family
This was my first time cooking for my family. I cooked a whole dinner and it turned out so good. I made them Sweet and Sour Pork. -
Passed my Permit Test
I passed my online permit test on the first try with one question wrong. -
Attained my Permit
I finally got my permit and was able to drive now. It started off as a rocky start and I didn't like practicing at first but I had to at least bare with it. Parents always are scared when their child starts driving. -
Passed Traffic and got my Blue Slip
I finished traffic this year and have the good to go to get my license, but I still need more hours in driving in. I am still a nervous driver but not a bad one. I just need to get my anxiety to stop as I drive. -
ILHMEC Leadership Day
I showed leadership skills during this event. I learned about the Human Rights Document and discussed the most important Article with a group of different students from different schools.
