The Third Estate is lockled out of the Estates General and form an oath in a tennis court to not leave until a new constitution is formed. -
Storming Bastille
The National Assembly is afraid that Louis is going to bring in the Swiss Guard, so they storm the Bastille, killing guards, freeing prisoners, and taking weapons. -

August Decrees
These decrees abolished feudalism and got rid of the Second Estates power and land. -
Declaration of Rights of Man
A document modeled by the Declaration of Independence saying that all MEN are equal. -
Women's March on Versailles
The Women in Paris strom Versailles and demand that Louis and his family return to Prais. -
Louis XVI and his family try to escape
They dress as peasants and try to escape to Austria, but are recognized and imprisoned. -
Legislative Assembly formed
A new legislative body that had the power to create laws and declare war. -
National Convention takes office
This new legislature grants adult male citizens the right to vote and hold office. -
Legislative Assembly declares war on Austria and Prussia
Austria and Prussia wanted France to put Louis back into power, which the Legislative Assembly responded to by declaring war. -
Monarchy abolished
The National Convention abolishes the monarchy and France becomes a Republic. -
Great Britain, Holland and Spain join forces with Austria and Prussia against France
The French army was doing well until more countries joined forces with their enemies, causing them to be defeated several times, which lead to them drafting 300,000 more citizens into the army. -
Louis XVI is beheaded
Louis is tried for treason and is beheaded via guiotine. -
Robespierre takes over
Robespierre slowly gains power, becomes the leader of the Committee of Public Safety, and then rules Franch for a year as a dictator. -

The Jacobins kill their enemies using the guiotine and say that they're "enemies of the Revolution." -
Marie Antoinette is beheaded
Marie was condemned for treason and was executed by the guiotine. -
Robespierre is executed
On July 27, Robespierre is arrested by the National convention, and the next day, the guiotine was used to chop off his head. -
New Constitution
It called for a two-house legislature and an executive body of five men, known as the Directory. -
Napoleon becomes the general of France's armies
The Directory named Napoleon the commander of the Army of the Interior after falling into their good graces.
