  • Stage 1: Trust Vs. Mistrust

    Stage 1: Trust Vs. Mistrust
This stage is at the age of birth to 18 months. The parent or guardian must develop a trusting and good environment for the infant so that the infant will trust the parent or guardian. If not, then the infant will mistrust others or trust other too much. While growing up to 18 months, I have learned how to eat solid food and walk. My siblings would guide me how to walk and hold onto me.
  • Stage 2: Autonomy Vs. Shame/Doubt

    Stage 2: Autonomy Vs. Shame/Doubt
The second stage is from age 1-3. The child learns independence and self-reliance like holding spoon while eating. From ages 1-3, I would be learning how to train myself to go use the restroom. My parents and siblings are tired of changing my diaper so they trained me to use the bathroom.
  • Stage 3: Initiative Vs. Guilt

    Stage 3: Initiative Vs. Guilt
In the third stage, the child (age 3-6) becomes more assertive and initiative. If they over do it, then they will feel guilt later on. In my experience, I wanted to try roller skating because my older siblings did too. They looked cool so I begged my older sister to buy me a pair of roller skates.
  • Stage 4: Industry Vs. Inferiority

    Stage 4: Industry Vs. Inferiority
At this stage, the child is age 6-12. They will learn skills and knowledge that is needed in the world or society. If the child is taught right, they will be able to do things on their own like responding positively to feedbacks. If not, then the child will feel inferior to that specific skill. An example is me being enrolled in middle school and having difficulties with my writing skills. Having English as my second language can be challenging.
  • Stage 5: Identity Vs. Identity Confusion

Stage 5: Identity Vs. Identity Confusion
Stage 5 occurs around the age of 12-18. At this point, the teenager questions themselves their identity and is unsure about the future. After graduation, I was wondering what kind of life I wanted. I wasn't too sure if I was going going to college. I graduated in 2021 and decided to enroll in college in spring 2022.
  • Stage 6: Intimacy Vs. Isolation

    Stage 6: Intimacy Vs. Isolation
This stage is in early adulthood (age 20-40). Young adults learn how to build relationships considering marriage. The young adult are committed to that relationship. If not, the young adult becomes isolated. In my case, I do not have time for romantic relationships. I think I would rather be with my family at the moment.
  • Stage 7: Generativity Vs. Stagnation

    Stage 7: Generativity Vs. Stagnation
This stage is when the adult starts learning how to be independent and settling down (age 40-65). A generative person is someone who is willingly teach the next generation, while a stagnation person is someone who is lacking in growth. I am willing to teach my siblings how to cook for themselves.
  • Stage 8: Ego Integrity Vs. Despair

Stage 8: Ego Integrity Vs. Despair
In the last stage, the person is looking back into their life. Their life is good and accepts their bad parts in life, the person is ego integrity rather than someone who regrets their life is someone with despair. I would want to say that I spent my life the way I wanted. I am satisfied with life.
