During this time of year this type of discussion was not even talked about in a discussion. the Education back then was limited to certain people. Diversity was not even mentioned in this morale. in this time the Dominate culture was the only one getting any form of education -
1830-1840: Horrace Mann Education decided that education is for everyone, opened school to lower class
Common schools were created and organized under a school board for local schools. Horrace Mann believed that these Common Schools would create a national identity, they would promote industry, and they would also create equality because all could attend (Hunkins & Ornstein, 74). This is a movement was important in creating equality because instead of a certain type of kids get an education (domniate cuture) all types of kids get to attend a school and get an education. -
1954: Brown V. Board of Education of Topeka Kansas

This event was huge because even though other people tried to make education and schools equal, this court case was one that started it. This event eliminated segregation in schools so that schools can be equal and not one dimensional -
1975- individuals with disabilities Act people with disability have the chance to learn and be in school
to support states and localities in protecting the rights of, meeting the individual needs of, and improving the results for Hector and other infants, toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities and their families (https://www.washington.edu/doit/what-individuals-disabilities-education-act). This event has been one of the first that deals with equality bringing education for anyone with any condition to have a form of education. -
The No Child Left Behind Act
This Act was passed by President George W. Bush on Jan. 8 in 2002. No Child Left Behind Act is is a federal law that provides money for extra educational assistance for poor children in return for improvements in their academic progress (https://www.edweek.org/ew/section/multimedia/no-child-left-behind-overview-definition-summary.html), This Act requires that all teachers must teach all types of students to read and do math from 3rd grade all the way up to 8th grade. -
