14th Amendment
Contains both the due process clause and equal protection laws.
It has five sections. -
Plessy v. Ferguson
Case decided that segregation was constitutional. Actually created the separate but equal doctrine. -
Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka
Overturning Plessy v. Ferguson, declared segregation unconstitutional because it violates the equal protection laws in the 14th amendment. Therefore putting an end to the separate but equal doctrine. -
Swann v. Charlotte-Meckleberg
Decision was made to try to speed up the desegregation of schools. Trying to fix attendance zones so that everything is fair.
