    was a series of events that marked the emergence of modern science during the early modern period, when developments in mathematics, physics, astronomy, biology (including human anatomy) and chemistry transformed the views of society about nature.
  • Galileo Galilei supports the heliocentric theory

    The significance of this event is massive. This starts the enlightenment because the people start to think for them selves about ideas of the universe. The ideas that they were finding were going against the church.

    This was a war fought against Britain to declare their freedom for their government. The English people,e were not happy about how they were getting treated so they decided to go to war for their freedom.
  • Hobbes’s Leviathan is published

    This book was about the new theory that the earth is not at the center of the universe. This got other people thinking and started to go agains the church. This was the start of the enlightenment period.

    It involved the overthrow of the Catholic king James II, who was replaced by his Protestant daughter Mary and her Dutch husband, William of Orange.

    This was a new idea of government that got ride of the Feudal system and created a new system of government hat made it so everyone was equal.

    This was a revolution to break away from England. This inspired the French people to have a revolution to get what they wanted.
  • Declaration of Independence

    This was a start of a new country with new laws and government that the people rule. They created a constitutional government so that there is not king or dictator.
  • Diderot Publishes First Volumes of Encyclopedia

    Seventeen volumes of the Encyclopédie's text were published between 1751 and 1765; 11 volumes of plates were also published between the years 1762 and 1772, making a total of 28 volumes. ... These seven volumes, plus the 28 prepared by Diderot, constituted the first edition of the Encyclopédie in 35 folio volumes.

    Louis XVI’s reign

    Louis was a young man when he first got married, and was not interested in his civil duties, he loved to eath and spend money which became a huge impact on France’s economy. One of the leading factors of the French Revolution was the immense amount of debt that France had fallen into because of the Royal family’s irresponsible financial decisions
  • National Assembly is formed in France

    This was a large meeting with all three of the estates. The cause of the meeting was that the third estate felt like they were being left out and forgotten. The third estate wanted to fix that but the national assembly didn't work. This caused the French Revolution.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    This was a meeting of the third estate after the National Assembly. Since they didn't get anything done at the National Assembly they got to work on writing their own constitutional government that will not give the king all of the power but will give the people some equal writes and power.
  • Declaration of Rights of Man

    The DOROMAC was one of the major turning points in the French Revolution. It was eventually signed by King Louis XVI(although, he was pretty much forced to do so), which laid the foundation to future political factors such as universal male suffrage and the end of the separation of people through social classes. The existence of the DOROMAC and its approval changed France itself by redefining how the political world worked, and it also inspired other countries to start their revolts against them

    This was the begging of a new constitutional government.
  • Bill of Rights signed

    This was a time when America declared freedom from Britain. They won the war and were a new country.
  • Wollstonecraft’s A Vindication of the Rights of Women is published

    Vindication of the Rights of Woman was written in 1791 and published in 1792, with a second edition appearing that same year.
  • Execution of Louis XVI

    They executed the king because he was not a good ruler. He causes the economy to crash which led to inflation and made all food prices super high. He also caused the drought where many people died cause of starvation.

    A time period where lots of people were dieing because of the drought. Since the economy crashed and inflation bringing up prices for food, it causes more people to starve and not get enough food.
  • Execution of Marrie Antoinette

    The French people wanted to get rid of her and the king because they were bad rulers. They causes the economy to crash and the drought which caused any lives.
  • Napoleon’s coup

    He was a dictator that wanted to step in and promised to the people of franc that he would fix all of their problem with the economy and the drought. The fixed the problem and everyone was happy and it was the end of the death and terror. `
