1400 BCE
MIDDLE ENGLISH
During this period of time the language was influenced by:
The coming of the Anglo-Normans to England in the year 1066.
The break with France in the year 1204.
The introduction in printing in the year 1476. The literature was focused on the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle and one of the best representers of the Middle English was Geoffrey Chaucer.

OLD ENGLISH
The language was influenced by:
The arrival of Germanic tribes to England during the 450 century which brought new words and expresions.
The cristianisation of England during the 600 century which influenced the language with the Latin.
The Scandinavian invasions during the 800 century.
The culture and the language of England people started to change due to the relationships established with people from other countries and cultures.

THE AGE OF SHAKESPEARE
William Shakespeare influenced the language through his works. He wrote poetry and different plays. He used English as a rethorical language.
The drama was one of the main characteristic in the language used.
William Shakespeare found the way to use English to express different emotions being love the most memorable.

MODERN ENGLISH
