4. Henry divorced her because he wanted to have a male heir to his throne
5. Catherine died three years after the divorce

King Henry marries Anne of Cleves

1. Anne of Cleves was ill suited for life in Henrys court
2. Anne was married to Henry for a few months untill tensions got so great between Cleves and the empire that Henry had to divorce her
3. Anne wanted to protest but she knew that it would only worsen things
4. After the divorce Anne recieved the title of the Kings Sister
5. She then lived alone untill 1557 in the countryside of England

2. Kathryn's uncle probably encouraged the girl to respond to the King's attentions and saw it as a way to increase his own influence over the monarch.
3. Sixteen days after he got rid of his wife he married Kathryn Howard. He was 49 and she was 19
4. She was the cousin of Anne Boleyn
5. She was executed at the age of 21 because she wanted to leave the king to look for younger men to marry
