Beginning of Korean War
Super-powers were on both sides of the war. This caused conflict between the Soviet Union and the U.S. North Korea was Communist while the south was capitalist. -

Warsaw Pact Formed
The Soviet Union established this after the U.S.formed the NATO. The NATO was formed to protect against potential conflict. The Warsaw Pact provided stability between both. -
Cuban Missle Crisis
Castro secretly let the Soviets create a missle base in Cuba. The U.S. insisted that they get rid of the missles. This caused tension to increase. There were no incidents and everything was settled. -

The German medias reported that East Germans were now able to travel freely. East and West Germany were able to reunificate once the wall was torn down. This was the beginning of the end of the Cold War. -

Countries began declaring independence from the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union fell apart and thus marked the end of the Cold War.
