Hello America
When we landed everyone started yelling and cheering, louder than ever before. Even louder than when the Interpol took our food from us two years ago. I will never forget the sound of America. -
Work is Very Hard in America
When I landed, I immediately searched for somewhere to stay. After that I went looking for a job but the only one anyone would give me is as a coal miner. Work has been hard but I have saved up enough money to get supplies to move west. I am moving west because of the free land they are giving away. What an Immense amount of Land; for free! -
Homestead Act
The homestead act, although it looks immensely generous, which it is; it is not easy to get the free land. You have to participate in a sort of contest or race to get the land. I need more money for a horse to get to the land faster. -
16 Days until the Race
Even though I have a fast horse, I don’t know if I will be able to get any land. -
Cristmas Day
There is a party at the local saloon tonight. I don’t know if I can afford to go, even though I haven’t had a drink in ages. I don’t know if I will go. -
Day of the Race
I ended up not going to the party. It is time to race. Even though I am confident I will get a plot of land, there is a lingering suspicion of a rigged race and cheating. I hope I get land. -
I got a Plot of Land!
I have gotten a plot of land! There is a river running through it and everything. Even though I got the land, it will be hard to start a farm and get cattle. I will have to work hard. Time to start work on the house.
