Navigation Acts
Were series of laws that restrict colonial trade things like lumber, furs, fish, and tobacco. -
Sugar Act
On April 5th, 1764 the Sugar Act was passed. The act halved the job on foreign- made molasses, Placed duties on certain imports and enforced the law of allowing prosecutors to try smuggling cases in a vice-admiralty court rather than in a more sympathetic colonial court. -
Stamp Act
Required colonists to buy stamped paper for legal document, license, newspapers, ect. -
Quartering Act
The act was passed to have the colonist to provided their homes as a shelter for the soldiers. -
Townshend Acts
Indirect taxes on imported materials including glass, lead and paint. Tea was also taxed and that was a big deal since a lot of drank it. -
Boston Massacre
A fight where the colonist were throwing snowballs, stone and sticks at British soldiers. Five colonist were shot and killed by the soldiers for a confusion of orders. -
Boston Tea Party
A protest by the Sons of Liberty where they dumped tea into the ocean. -
Intolerable Acts
A series of laws passed by the British Parliament in 1773. The laws were a punishment for throwing the tea into the ocean. -
Lexington & Concord
700 soldiers went to destroy guns and ammunition the colonist had stored.
