Toussaint L'Ouverture's Reign
Toussaint L'Ouverture was originally a Spanish slave in the slave trade, after he escaped he helps invade the French colony of Saint Domingue (now Haiti). in 1800, he gained his full control of Saint Domingue and became the leader, after colonial fights, he won the land of Hispaniola. 1801, he loses control after a new colony claimed the island back, and they give remarks of kindness to the native leaders. in 1802, after he was taken back to France, he was left to die in prison, which happened.
