This school was established to educate young men and prepare them for University entrance, it was a school that was offered to all boys regardless of their social class. -

This is the first higher education to be offered in the U.S. At this point women were seen in a school setting and it was seen for it to be more appropriate for man to get an education. -
Old Deluder Satan Act
This establishes that towns of 50 people or more are required to hire a teacher for reading and writing, this help people see that public education was good and important towards are county. -
Franklin Academy
This school eliminated religion, and focused on math, science, and navigation. At this time religion was a big part in all schools so this was not a normal thing. -
Constitution
The constitution removes religion from public schools and then goes into the state’s responsibility in education. -
