    The Compulsory Education Act is significant because it required children to attend Primary school. It impacted education at the time because it required students to receive an education and obligated parents to send them to school. It continues to influence education today by requiring attendance and students to attend school fulltime. It has since evolved, requiring to send children through Highschool (Reuters, 2020).

    Brown vs. Board of Education is significant because the Supreme Court ruled that segregation in public schools was unconstitutional. It impacted education at the time by being the first movement that started to create equal inclusive schools. It continues to influence education by providing the same education for all students, no matter what race or nationality (History.com, 2009), (Riek, 2020).

It impacted education at the time by allowing all children an opportunity to learn and grow. It continues to influence education by providing the Individualized Education Program and 504 plans set up for each individual student to protect their rights and give them what they need per their disability (Riek, 2020), (Kiril, 2014).

    The Character Education Program is significant because it established the teaching of core values, everyday morals to be taught within school. This impacted education by giving children the moral guidelines they might be missing at home. It continues to influence education by still being taught today and the cornerstone of most elementary schools. Core values are a significant part of the elementary school philosophy (Riek, 2020).

    Common core standards are significant because it established the end goal for students each year. It impacted education at the time by allowing the teachers to have flexibility in their teaching. It continues to influence education by having standards but allowing teachers the advantage to teach in a way that is best for their class (Riek, 2020).
