The riots lasted for over a week and took place in contstantinople. It was the worst riot in history. Half of the city was destroyed and tens of thousands of people died during them. -

General Belisarius Military Campaign
On December 9, 536 AD, Byzantine Count Belisarius 5,000 troops entered Rome through the Asinarian Gate. The leader, Odoacer, had killed the last Western Roman emperor and declared him self as the King of the Romans. -

First Crusade
The First Crusade was the most successful. Urban demanded Christians to swarm Jerusalem and make it safe for Christian pilgrims. The armies of the First Crusade left in 1096 and captured Jerusalem in 1099. The Crusaders carved out small kingdoms for themselves and lived in them for awhile. -

Fourth Crusade
The Fourth Crusade started because Venetian leaders saw it as a way to increase their power and influence. Crusaders who arrived in Venice expected to end up in Egypt but were sent towards their allies in Constantinople. The city was seriously destroyed in 1204 which lead to more hate between Eastern and Western Christians. -

It was also called East–West Schism. It started the final separation between the Eastern Christian churches (led by the patriarch of Constantinople,) and the Western Church (led by Pope Leo IX). -
