    Eastern Orthodox Church

    The Eastern Orthodox Church, also called the Orthodox Church, is the second-largest Christian church, with approximately 220 million baptized members.

    Lutheran Church

    The Lutheran Church was established during the Reformation in Germany under the influence of Martin Luther (1483–1546). The first Lutheran Congregation in Sydney was formed in 1866. The ordained minister of the Church undertakes the ministry of word and sacrament. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two sacraments celebrated. The Book of Concord and the Bible form the basis of Lutheran faith and worship. Lutheran liturgical practice of formal worship is known as the Common Order.

    Anglican Church

    Anglicans recognise Baptism and the Eucharist as the two great sacraments. The Australian Prayer Book (formerly referred to as the Book of Common Prayer) advises on faith, worship and the format of the varying services.
    Many other Protestant Churches are also present in Australian society. The Uniting Church in Australia Officially united with the Basis of Union declaration in 1977,

    Baptists are a Christian religious group. Many Baptists belong to the Protestant movement of Christianity. They believe that a person can attain salvation through faith in God and Jesus Christ. Baptists also believe in the sanctity of the Bible
  • Presbyterian

    The Presbyterian Church established itself in the Cleveland area in 1807, among the earliest Protestant denominations, and developed rapidly. Presbyterianism originated in the 16th-century Protestant Reformation and the teachings of John Calvin of Switzerland and John Knox of Scotland.
  • Methodist

    Methodist churxh founded in 1885 by the Wesleyan Methodist Church, became a major provider of welfare services and ministry in Sydney and across New South Wales. It developed Dalmar Home in the early 20th century, and was involved in the establishment of the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
  • Uniting church

    The Uniting Church in Australia was formed on June 22, 1977, as a union of three churches: the Congregational Union of Australia, the Methodist Church of Australasia and the Presbyterian Church of Australia. The UCA is the third largest Christian denomination in Australia.
  • Hillsong church

    Hillsong, is a global charismatic Christian megachurch based in Australia. The original church was established in 1983 as Hills Christian Life Centre, in Baulkham Hills, New South Wales, by Brian Houston and his wife Bobbie.
