    4.5 billion years ago, Earth was formed. This period of 600 million years of time is called the Hedean Eon. The Moon was also formed on this era

    Archean Era

    Archean Era
    Archean Era, which is the period form 4-2.5 billion years ago, is when life first arise on Earth. The Earth's temperature did not reach extreme because although there's large amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, the sun was fainter.

    Proterozoic Era

    Proterozoic Era
    The Proterozoic Era was from 2.5 billion-541 million years ago. In this period, oxygen had started to dramatically increase in Earth's atmosphere, and this is the era before complexed life form started to appear on Earth

    Paleozoic Era

    Paleozoic Era
    The Paleozoic Era is between 540-254 million years ago. Most invertebrate groups were developed back then. The Cambrian explosion also happened back then, where most modern phyla were developed.
  • 50 BCE

    Mesozoic Era

    Mesozoic Era
    The Mesozoic Era was between 250-66 million years ago. During this era the supercontinent Pangaea begin to separate and eventually become individual continents. Dinosaurs also start to appear in this era, but they became extinct at the end of this era.

    Cenozoic Era

    Cenozoic Era
    The Cenozoic Era was between 66 million years ago-now. The continents moved into their current positions, and mammals starts to appear and develop, human begin to appear, too.
